A gunman opened fire at a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida, around 2 a.m. Sunday morning. At least 50 people were killed and more than 50 others were wounded, which makes it the nation’s worst mass shooting in the history of the United States.

The shooter was identified as Omar Mir Seddique Mateen, a 29-year-old American-born Muslim. President Barack Obama claimed the attack “an act of terror and hate.” and “This is an especially heartbreaking day for our friends who are lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender,” in an address to the nation from the White House.

In the wake of the nightmare at the nightclub, members of the LGBT communities then express their feelings of hope, anxiety, anger, and love at social media. Muslim Americans show support for victims and the LGBT groups after the media’s report of the Omar Mateen’s Muslim relief.While the suspect’s father told the media that his son had recently expressed anti-gay sentiments and there is nothing to do with religion. The LGBT communities and the groups then express their understanding and acceptance for Muslim’s support, and they are also willing to hug a Muslim.
